Thank you to ABAC’s Georgia Museum of Agriculture for sponsoring this post and offering a fun and family friendly Halloween event.
When Halloween time comes around, kids are all about the costumes and the candy. This Halloween, you can pair the fun of dressing up and getting candy with some hands-on history at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture’s Trick or Treat in the Village on October 25th.
“This event is a very family friendly event for the younger kids in our community,” said Garrett Boone, Director of the Georgia Museum of Agriculture. “This event offers an opportunity for your kids to come on our site and interact with history, while still having the fun of dressing up and trick or treating.”

In addition to trick or treating, visitors can expect to see face painting, a bounce house, face-painting, food trucks, kids’ games, along with special demonstrations like the sawmill.
“We don’t normally run our sawmill on a typical Saturday as it’s mainly volunteer operated, but for special events (like Trick or Treat in the Village and Cane Grinding and Syrup making) we do,” said Boone.

This year, the GMA will also have a passport type card for trick or treaters to check off after getting candy at the historic locations within the village. Once their card is completed, they can turn the card in at the Country Store to receive a goody bag with candy, coupons, a cup, a chance at a larger door prize, and information about upcoming events.
The Country Store playground will also sport a few new additions by the time of Trick or Treat in the Village including updated picnic tables and a brand-new playset.

“For moms and young families, this event is a chance to trick-or-treat in a safe, family friendly, controlled environment with many fun opportunities in one central location,” said Boone. “We strive to make all our events as relaxing and safe as possible for both parents and children.”
And while Trick or Treat in the Village is a special event that’s sure to be a good time, the GMA has a lot to offer moms and families year-round.

Whether you are looking for something to do on a weekend, somewhere to take the kids for a snack and a place to play after school, a special event, or even a homeschool or traditional school field trip, the Georgia Museum of Agriculture is a great option.
“One of the good things about the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and is you can spend as little or as long as you want to,” said Boone. “If you just want a quick outing to get out of the house with the kids, you can run up to the museum, play on the playground, buy some ice cream, maybe go through Spinks Exhibit Hall if it’s hot out, and spend an hour. Or, if you are looking for a longer outing there is plenty to see and do that will keep all ages of visitors entertained for hours.”
