Take a Class

Shake up your routine by learning something new together. It can be a great way to bond and a way to shake up your date night routine. The Tifton Council for the Arts has several classes coming up this fall including:

Horse Creek Winery also has some fun, fall themed classes coming up soon, including:

The Moultrie Center for the Arts also has several upcoming classes this fall as well. All of these classes would make an awesome date night (or day), but we do understand that sometimes the budget for a date night is very small. If that’s the case for you, you can still use this idea and sign up for one of the library’s upcoming classes this fall instead. Or, if the timing isn’t right, you can also make your own “class” right at home with a DIY pottery kit, following an online painting tutorial, or trying a new dance routine. The key is working side by side, learning something fresh, and sharing small moments of curiosity.

Get Scared

For couples who love a little adrenaline, fall is prime time to seek out spooky thrills. Here are three local haunted options to consider:

  • Haunted Trail at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture – Every fall, the GMA transforms part of its grounds into a haunted trail, offering just the right combination of fright and fun close to home.
  • Tift Theatre Haunted Theatre – Around Halloween, the Tift Theatre for the Performing Arts does a Haunted Theatre. You can make plans to attend October 29th-31st.
  • Screamz Haunt – If you’re really into haunted adventrues and are willing to drive a little farther, you can check out Screamz Haunt in Hoboken, Georgia (about an hour and a half away). This haunted attraction offers mazes, scares, and immersive experiences. Learn more here.

See a Show

Dinner and a show is a classic date night option, and that’s still true during the fall. There’s a great theatre in Moultrie and Valdosta for new movie releases, but there are a couple local shows we’re even more excited about.

Get Lost

Fall is prime time for wandering through corn mazes, following winding paths, and seeing who can get turned around first. Both Rutland Farms here in Tifton and Calhoun Produce in Ashburn offer a corn maze as part of their fall fun during the day, but they also offer flashlight nights, which is the perfect mix of adrenaline, fun, and fall vibes for a fun fall date night.

Go on a Hike

When the heat of summer fades, fall is one of the best times to get outside, and going on a hike or even just going on a walk with your significant other can be a great time to bond and talk without the distractions in our everyday life. Whether you head to Reed Bingham State Park in Adel to try out one of their different trails or just head to walking path closer to home, getting outside can be a great way to spend time with each other this fall. Pair your hike with a simple picnic (prepped ahead) or bring along binoculars for birdwatching. Walking side by side, chatting about life, and taking in fall colors can be restorative and even romantic.
