Hey Mama!

I hope you’re having a great New Year so far and are looking forward to an awesome week this week! I’ve put together a delicious meal plan that I hope you’re excited about. We know meal planning and cooking can be quite the headache, so we want to take another thing off your plate. With our weekly meal plans, you’ll get five dinner ideas along with the corresponding recipes, 2-3 breakfast ideas (intended to be prepped in advance and last for several days) along with the corresponding recipe ideas, and a printable grocery list. What’s not to love about that?!

Breakfast

First up is breakfast ideas for the week! This week we have three great options that you can prep in advance to make mornings a little easier, and depending on the size of your family, each option should give you 2-3 days worth of breakfast. This week’s breakfast ideas include:

  • Biscuits: Who doesn’t love a delicious homemade biscuit? I’m pairing these with some ready to serve sausage patties I have in the freezer, but you could go super simple and just serve them with butter or jam. You could also go all out and do a bacon or sausage egg and cheese and just wrap them up in the fridge to be reheated as you need them. I personally don’t usually use shortening, so I probably will replace that with butter in this recipe, but that’s just me. I’ll include shortening on the grocery list, so you change it over if you want to.
  • Dutch Baby Pancake: This is not a recipe that works all that well to prep ahead, but it is something you can prep the night before and cook the morning of, and it’s so much easier than regular pancakes. It also calls for more eggs, making it a higher protein option.
  • Granola Bars: These granola bars don’t require any baking, and they can double as a great healthy snack this week in addition to breakfast!

Dinner

We’ve got a couple repeats this week from the past couple weeks in addition to some fresh new ideas. We hope your family will love these recipes as much as ours does!

  • Hamburgers with homemade season fries: We did not end up eating hamburgers last week like I originally planned because we had a lot of leftovers that needed to be eaten. As I said last week, I don’t have a recipe for this, but the basic idea is Just make up the hamburgers to your liking, and then for the season fries, I just slice up some potatoes long ways, drizzle with oil, and then season to your liking (for us it’s usually garlic, salt, pepper, a little paprika, and parsley).
  • Burrito bowl: We did a similar meal a few weeks ago, but this burrito bowl recipe uses ground beef (or your choice of meat) and just one pot, making it super easy and fast—perfect for a weeknight. Top it with fresh veggies like lettuce or avocado if you like!
  • Chicken and rice soup: This chicken and rice soup is so comforting and cozy for a cold night! It’s also perfect for sick kids or to try and boost your immune system this time of year.
  • Baked ziti: Baked ziti is another favorite in our house. It feels a little fancier than regular spaghetti, but it’s not quite as complicated or time consuming as lasagna.
  • Philly cheesesteak: We have some leftover roast and bell peppers from last week, which is the perfect base for Philly cheesesteaks (one of my husband’s favorite meals). Just note that this recipe calls for steak (which is what will be included on the grocery list), but if you have leftover roast to use up, just swap that instead.

Get the Grocery List

Ready to go grocery shopping? We’ve created a downloadable grocery list to make your job of meal planning and grocery shopping even easier. Whether you download it and print it to take into the store or just use it as a reference for your pickup order, we want to make your week a little easier. We have items categorized into section of the store, and we include all the pantry items you might need for the recipes minus spices and oils, but if these are things you already have, feel free to cross them off (as with any of the items). We don’t include specific amounts for the items because depending on your family size, you may have to modify or change the amounts to make the right size recipe for your family. There’s also a spot for additional items you may need in your household unrelated to the recipes we’ve put together. This list is intended to be a guide, and it’s always best to check the recipes for specific amounts and spices, oils, or other pantry items you may not have readily on hand. We hope you enjoy and have a great week!  Download your grocery list for these recipes by filling out the form below:
