Looking to get the kids out of the house to get some energy out? We’ve got you covered! As a mom, I’ve always found it so much easier to get out of the house with the kids for some fun than stay indoors (and my house tends to stay at least a little bit cleaner on those days). In this article, we’ll go over some of the local playgrounds you can check out on a nice day!
Fulwood Park

Located in the heart of Tifton, Fulwood Park has two great playgrounds that have been redone in recent years. Both playgrounds are completely handicap accessible with bonded rubber surface for easy navigation with either a wheelchair or stroller, handicap accessible swings, and handicap accessible merry-go-rounds. Public bathrooms, which have also recently been remodeled, are located next to each playground and open during the day. In addition to the two playgrounds, there is a walking track, a creek, disc golf course, and a dog park.
Georgia Museum of Agriculture
The Georgia Museum of Agriculture’s Country Store has a great playground for kids of a variety of ages and a nature trail nearby. It does have a handicap accessible swing, but if your child is in a wheelchair, it would be difficult to get around with the mulch used on the ground. This playground can be a great place to go on its own or in addition to visiting the historic village, and while you do need tickets for the village and museum, just playing on the playground is completely free. During the school year, the country store offers an after school special from 3-5 pm where you can get an ice cream, drink, and either popcorn or cotton candy for only $4. Public bathrooms are also available inside the country store. Located at 1392 Whiddon Mill Road, this playground is open from 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday-Saturday.
Northside Baptist Church

Northside Baptist Church, located at 4605 Murray Avenue, has play equipment open to the public suitable for a variety of ages. Because the church does run a daycare and school, the playground may not be available when children from their program are using it on weekday mornings during the school year. In addition to their playgrounds, the church also has a nice walking track, disc golf course, and ponds open to the public. It’s a great place to get some steps in while your kids ride in the stroller or on their bikes.
St. Anne’s Episcopal Church
The playground at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, located at 2411 Central Avenue North, is also open to the public. There is not a nursery or school at this church, so it should generally be available at any point during the day. While you’re there, you can also check out the unique labyrinth on the church’s campus.
First Methodist Church

First Methodist Church, located at 107 W 12th Street, has a few different play areas open to the public, one with a really cool playhouse. Like Northside Baptist, this church does run a daycare and school on weekday mornings, so the play equipment may not be available when in use by the children who attend.
Puckett Park

Puckett Park, which was upgraded in late 2023, is located in South Tifton at 646-1413 Elm Street. It has swings, a twirling feature, balancing structures, a miniature climbing wall, and slides. When the playground was redone in 2023, the Tift County recreation department also redid the basketball court and put up a fence for safety. Unlike many of the other parks in Tift County, this park is completely handicap accessible as the surface is made of bonded rubber.
Tift County Schools Administration Building (formerly Annie Bell Clark)

The old Annie Bell Clark school, located at 506 W 12th Street, may not have kids roaming it’s hallways anymore since it became the Tift County Schools Administration Building several years ago, but they kept the playground equipment on the property for public use.
Rutland Farms
Rutland Farms hosts lots of cool events throughout the year and offers U-Pick strawberries and other fruits, but they also have a nice playground behind their store that’s open to the public. While you’re there, check out some of the cool products available for sale in store.
Southern Grace Farms

Southern Grace Farms, located just outside of Tifton at 3131 Vickers Church Road in Enigma, is another great local farm with a playground. It’s free to play on the equipment, and the playground is truly unique. There’s also a covered porch with checkers and other games, and the farm offers U-Pick blackberries, blueberries, citrus fruits, grapes, nectarines, peaches, plums, strawberries, and sunflowers when in season during the year.
