Thank you to Southwell for sponsoring this post and empowering and educating women about their health.
As moms and grandmothers, we know how important it is to take care of ourselves in order to take care of everyone else. Southwell’s upcoming “Pink Out Loud” event is a fantastic way to do that. The event takes place on October 4th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Northside Baptist Church Family Life Center, and it is open to all women in the community.
“Whether you’re a breast cancer survivor, currently going through treatment, or simply want to be proactive about prevention, this event provides education, support, and resources for all ages,” said Liza Tillman, Public Relations Director for Southwell. “We wanted to create a space where women could feel empowered with knowledge about their health. As we approach Breast Cancer Awareness Month, hosting Pink Out Loud allows us to honor survivors, support those currently facing breast cancer, and educate our community about prevention and early detection. It’s one of several breast cancer events Southwell is hosting this season—visit our website to learn more about what’s happening in October.”
At the event, there will be brunch for all guests, chair massages, health vendors with resources and information, 360 Photo Booth, DIY Faux Flower Arranging Bar (for purchase), shopping with local craft vendors and boutiques, and a special discussion from Southwell physicians and experts on “What Every Woman Needs to Know About Breast Cancer Screenings.” Additionally, the first 200 attendees will get a free t-shirt and swag bag.
While the event will be a fun morning out, it’s also an opportunity for all of us to learn more about the realities of breast cancer and how to prevent it and catch it early.
“Early detection saves lives,” said Liza. “When breast cancer is found in its earliest stages, treatment is often less invasive, outcomes are better, and survival rates are much higher. That’s why events like Pink Out Loud—and the other breast cancer events Southwell is hosting—are so important. We want to help women learn the signs to watch for, understand screening guidelines, and feel comfortable talking to their healthcare providers about any concerns.
While early registration is requested, it is not required. However, the special t-shirt and swag bag giveaways are only available to the first 200 attendees on a first-come, first-serve basis, and registration does not guarantee you will receive one.
Mark your calendars for October 4th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for a fun and educational morning!
“We hope everyone leaves Pink Out Loud feeling more confident and informed about their breast health,” said Liza. “Our goal is for women to understand their personal risk factors, know when and how to get screened, and feel empowered to take charge of their health—all while enjoying a morning of fun, fellowship, and community support.”
