In last month’s Small Town Saturday, we featured the town of Sylvester because of its free splashpad. This month, we’re focusing on the town of Moultrie, which also has a great way to beat the heat. If you’re not familiar with the town of Moultrie, it’s about 35 minutes away from Tifton on Highway 319.

The two biggest draws to Moultrie for families this time of year is the large splashpad and pool and its movie theater. These are both great ways to beat the heat—one with some fun in the water and one with some fun indoors.

The splashpad in Moultrie isn’t free, but it’s very reasonably priced at just $2 for kids and $3 for adults. That gets you into a pool and a large splashpad with a huge bucket feature without a time limit. You can also buy a family swim pass for $100 for the season. The splashpad is located at 1020 4th Street SW and is open seven days a week from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The movie theater in Moultrie can be another great way to beat the heat with some fun in the cool of the air conditioning. The Moultrie theater is part of the Georgia Theatre Company, and it currently has How to Train Your Dragon playing there with more family friendly titles  coming soon.
