What to Look for in an OB/GYN
Choosing an OB/GYN is an important and personal decision. Whether you’re trying to conceive, preparing for delivery, or just need routine care, you want a provider who respects your values and makes you feel heard and supported.
Here are some things to consider when choosing the right OB/GYN for you:
- Comfort & Communication: Do you feel at ease asking questions? Does the provider listen and explain things clearly?
- Hospital Affiliation: Make sure they deliver or practice at your preferred hospital, like Tift Regional Medical Center.
- Philosophy of Care: Are they supportive of your birth plan, pain management preferences, or natural approaches if that’s important to you?
- Office Environment: Is the staff welcoming and responsive? How easy is it to schedule appointments or get answers between visits?
- Insurance & Costs: Double-check that they’re in-network with your insurance and transparent about billing.
- Local Recommendations: Ask other moms in the Tifton area who they’ve loved (or not). Word of mouth goes a long way!
