Whether you need a fun day treasure hunting at a thrift store or you’re looking for somewhere to donate your unused stuff, we’ve got you covered! We’ve put together a list of local secondhand stores right here in Tifton. While Goodwill is also an option, we have not included it in this article in order to prioritize more local options that often support more local charity right here in our community.
H&C Consignment
While not a thrift store, H&C Consignment in downtown Tifton is a great place to go if you’re looking for secondhand clothes, shoes, toys, baby items, and/or pregnancy and postpartum options. One of the great things about this secondhand option is it’s often more organized than traditional thrift stores, and the items have been thoroughly vetted before being accepted. When it comes to getting rid of your own stuff, this isn’t the best option if you just want to drop it off and forget about it, but if you have nicer items in good condition, this can be a great option to earn some money off of those items. H&C Consignment is located at 377 Main Street South in Tifton.

The Bird’s Nest Thrift Store
The Bird’s Nest Thrift Store, also in downtown Tifton, is a great local thrift store whether you’re donating items or looking to go thrifting yourself. This thrift store supports the Tiftarea House of Hope, which is a non-denominational, faith-based emergency and traditional residence for homeless women. And while national thrift store prices are going up (we’re not naming names, but you know who we’re talking about!) for donated items, The Bird’s Nest’s prices are still reasonable with frequent sales, and it’s a really great organization to support, through donating and shopping. The Bird’s Nest is located at 345 Commerce Way in Tifton.
Brother Charlie’s
Another great local thrift store is Brother Charlie’s, also in downtown Tifton. This thrift store is a little bit bigger than The Bird’s Nest, and it supports the work of Brother Charlies Rescue Center which helps homeless men in the area. The prices for this thrift store are also more reasonable than national chains, and like The Bird’s Nest they often have sales on their items. One of the unique things about Brother Charlies Thrift Store is that they will pickup donations throughout Tift County, making the process to donate really easy. Brother Charlies is located at 146 Love Avenue in Tifton.

Salvation Army
While Salvation Army is a national organization, it does do a lot of work here locally with food assistance and other programs for local families, making it another good option to support either with your donations or by shopping there. Salvation Army of Tifton is located at 1205 US Highway 82 E in Tifton.
Brady’s Furniture
While it doesn’t support a nonprofit, Brady’s Furniture in Tifton is a great local used furniture store. They don’t accept donations, but if you’re in the market for new to you furniture at reasonable prices, check them out! They are located at 153 Virginia Avenue South in Tifton.
